Experimental Filmmaker, Beat Producer, & Spoken Word Poet
Welcome to my world. From this site, I self-release my art.
I've
been through a bit in my 30 years plus on this planet. I was born in
Metro Detroit, but by the time I was 18, I had enough. I bought a $40
hockey bag and a one way ticket to San Francisco, CA. I slept on many
floors and lost touch with my past for many years. I made my way alone.
I
was a sponsored Skateboarder from ages 16 to 24. At first, sharing
apartments with 10 at a time & living off ramen, day old donuts,
herb, and coffee. I eventually went to Film School at SFSU. And to
release my first Spoken word/hip hop album, I started my own pseudo
indie label in 2002, Omnipresent Records.
After I beat my
body into a pulp skateboarding, plus the remains of a few too
many club nights. I got healthy. Yoga, Tai Chi, a few years of
Vegan-ism. Now in my early 30's, I just search for the balance...
Thanks to my wife, I've been getting on the raw food kick lately
too.
In SF, in 2002, I met my wife. She's a boriqua from the
Bronx, but was then living in Berkley, CA. In 2003, I asked her to
marry me. She said yes, so we bought a minivan for 2k, packed it up and
headed back East. We then lived on a mountain top in Upstate New York
for a few years... Top of the world, waterfalls and all... In 2004, we
gave birth to our beautiful daughter.
In 2008, we came back
to the D and bought a house. At that point in our lives, we were
tired of moving and wanted to commit. We also wanted a real family for
our seed, grammy, grampy, all that... And for years, I missed the
inspiration of Detroit. My friends had been producing some beautiful
music here and I wanted to be a part of it.
So here we are. I'm a family man now, but I can't shake the desire to be inspired. So this is it. My world. Welcome.
((Much love))
